Luding Meng Biography

Luding Meng is both a Chinese Scholar and an artist. Graduating in 1979 from the prestigious Central Academy of Art in Beijing, he is one of the leaders of the current Chinese art movement. He is perhaps best known for his 'Goddess of Democracy' sculpture which was torn down by tanks in the Tiananmen Square student uprising.

Meng's paintings have had eight national museum shows in China and throughout the world. He is included in five books on Chinese oil painting and art history.
